JumpStart Georgia is collaborating with the National Democratic Institute (NDI) to improve how Georgian Parliament voting records are made public.
Since Parliament moved to Kutaisi last year and a new voting system was installed, the previous system for making MPs' votes public has ceased to work.
Knowing how MPs vote is one step in understanding whether MPs are delivering on the promises they have made. This is a vital component in a democracy where citizens can make decisions that are informed and elect representatives based on what they have done, not just on what they say they will do.
JumpStart Georgia is working to not only resuscitate the old system as quickly as possible, but to improve on it so the information will be more accessible and useful than ever before.
